Unsupported Battery Pack Error

I now have regularly this error where the mower stops in the garden ~2 minutes after mowing starts.
"Unsupported Battery Pack".
If I enter the pin & place it back in the docking station it works fine on the next starts until the next day.

Does anyone have any success getting Bosch to replace the battery pack? It is less than 1 year old.

Why doesn't it check the battery when the mower initializes (so remains in the docking station when there's a problem).
It seems unnecessary that it should check the battery during operating?

Is this just another bug with the Inedgo firmware?

Hello GabboCH ,

This topic was already reported last year by several user. As far as i know the only solution was, to send the mower to the Bosch Service.

First you could try a reset and check if the failure message has gone.

Same problem occurred with my mower two times.
In both cases air temperature was above 30 and there was bright sunshine while mowing. So I think the problem might somehow be related to temperature.
What were the wether conditions when you have got the error messages?

Interesting, it was during the last 2 weeks that this error occurred each day it tried to mow & I would say the same conditions as yours (30+ DegC with bright sunshine).
The mower is inside a wooden house with ventilation & is not "directly" exposed to the sunlight but it seems strange this this occurs within a few minutes of it leaving the dock (like something is too hot).

Its around 20-25 this week with cloudy & less constant sunshine so it will be interesting if this issue goes away.

I faced last 2 weeks similar strange behaviour while charging - it sometimes took 3-4 hours to charge the accu before continuing the mowing without error message on display.
Weather was sunny and 30+ degrees too.

I wrote Bosch support 2 weeks ago and asked for checking it in the logs on server - but got no response until now.

It depends from which country you want to call the service. There are different contacts available. You can find them in the manual. Here are some examples:

In all correspondence and spare parts orders, please always include the 10-digit article number given on the type plate of the mower.
It is possible, that the software version of your mower is required (see „Menu > Settings > Info“).
If the mower is requested to be sent to the service centre, the mower and docking station must always be sent together. Do not remove the battery.
Before sending in, remove any personalised top cover that may have been fitted and any accessory cover.

I have emailed the Bosch Aftersales Service from Switzerland & am waiting for a response.
I provided photos taken on several dates since May this year so that they can hopefully verify these errors against their server logs.

The same error has occurred during the last two days that the Indego was run.
It was again quite hot (~30DegC) but the mower worked for 1 or 2 hours before it stopped in the middle of the garden with this error.

I will give feedback as soon as I receive a reply.

Im in the SW near lake Leman (Lausanne/Geneva).
Great place for a holiday/visit but dont bring your Inedgo, the 2G signal is terrible!

I had a reply from Bosch service.
They asked me to check the battery was correctly fixed in place & there were no signs of corrosion on the battery connections.
Everything looked in perfect condition & there were no signs of moisture, dirt, dust or contamination inside the battery compartment.

In response they told me I would need to send the mower to the service center for repair.
There were very helpful & offered to send a replacement cardboard box for transportation.

Before I inspected the battery, the error occurred 3 times in the same day, it was cooler 20°C so unrelated to the temperature.

Now after reassembly, (I didn't get organise the transportation to the service center yet) the mower had continued to run for the last week without problems. It is again +30°.

i wonder whether it's actually a problem caused by poor contact of the battery pins & terminals, maybe due to vibration or shock of being picked up?

i would assume that bosch know of a problem with moisture/corrosion of the battery compartment also.
Is interesting that this compartment doesn't have any real seal or gasket.
It relies on the plastic on plastic contact of the cover to keep out moisture and dirt.
It would be easy for moisture to pass if one of the screws was not correctly fitted.

If you have the problem again, you better buy a spare battery by your own and replace it. Yes, it costs something, but you have less stress and effort and you do not have to send the robot away for a couple of weeks.

If with a new battery the Problem occurs again, then you have no choice.
